The 5 Best Spanish-Language Shows on Cable

If you want to learn Spanish and don’t have time to go to the country, cable television is a great place to start. It’s not just telenovelas and soccer games, though—there are plenty of shows on cable that’ll help you master the language. Here are five that are recommended if you’re looking for something fun and easy to watch:

Pasión de Gavilanes (Gavilanes’ Passion)

Pasión de Gavilanes (Gavilanes’ Passion) is a popular telenovela that follows the lives of a group of friends—all women, who are each trying to navigate their own unique challenges. The show was developed by Televisa, so it’s no surprise that it’s set in Mexico City. As per the DIRECTV experts, “It has an impressive number of fans on social media, including Twitter and Instagram accounts for the characters themselves.”

Covert Affairs

Covert Affairs is a show about Annie Walker, a CIA agent who’s in training. She works with her boss Joan to stop bad guys and save the world from stuff like nuclear explosions, terrorist attacks and rogue countries.

The show aired on the USA Network from 2010 through 2014 before coming back for one final season in 2015. It stars Piper Perabo as Annie Walker, Christopher Gorham as Auggie Anderson, Kari Matchett as Joan Campbell and Peter Gallagher as Arthur Campbell (the name gets confusing here).

The Bridge

The Bridge is an American crime drama television series that is set on the U.S.-Mexico border and was adapted by FX Networks from a Scandinavian series called Bron (Danish for “Bridge”). The show premiered on July 10, 2013, and has been nominated for several awards since its premiere.

The Bridge features one of the best portrayals of a bilingual character on TV: Sonya Cross, a brilliant forensics psychiatrist who can speak multiple languages. In addition to English, Sonya also speaks Spanish fluently and uses it throughout the show as she interacts with Spanish-speaking characters on both sides of the border.

Tras la Verdad (The Truth Behind)

The Truth Behind is a Spanish-language crime series that follows a team of journalists who investigate crimes. The show is based on true events and has been very popular in Spain. It’s unclear whether this will be its first season on Netflix, but if it does, it will make for great binging material. you may also like pikashow apk

El Club del Chiste (The Joke Club)

El Club del Chiste (The Joke Club) is a Spanish comedy series that airs on Telemundo. The show is about a group of friends who meet regularly to tell jokes, but it’s also about the lives of these friends and their relationships with each other.

El Club del Chiste follows three friends—Hugo, Isaac and Lucas—as they try to make a name for themselves as professional comedians in Mexico City. However, fame isn’t easy to come by when your comedy club is competing with bigger venues that are willing to pay more for performers’ time and talent. Each episode features three stand-up routines from some of today’s best Latin American comedians and comics like Cristina Saralegui (host), Edgar Vivar (writer), Andres Laferte (writer) and many more!

This list of shows on Spanish cable has been created to help you choose what to watch this weekend. Hope that it brings you joy and laughter!
